Thanks for playing Gainesville last night.. expected to be blown away by MoFro (which I was) but totally didn't expect to be blown away by the opener. Y'all are amazing.. such talent! Thanks for makin' my night and come back any time. I'll be sharin' the cd I bought with my friends in the meantime.
Last night's show at the Orange Peel was fantastic! You guys won me over from the get go. Great sound, great enthusiasm, kick-ass spirit. Hope to catch more dates soon.
So, I'm checking on a project and the painting contractor says to me, "Weren't you at the ZZ Top concert (Belton TX)?" Yes I was, so we reminisced about the concert and the good old days (both in our 60's, so we know rock & roll) . Then I asked, "Did you catch the opening act?" He said he did, and that he bought the CD (so did I). Then with a mixture of suprise and glee he said, "It's GOOD!" Oh yes. Would I have changed some lyrics? Well, yeah, it's kind of a disease I have. But bottom line is that there is not a bad track on there. Kudos to your producer. Great concert, guys (and lady).
I was buying a beer right by the troo music stage at Bonnaroo last Saturday when i heard some awesome music coming from the stage. I had never heard of JTNL but had no choice but to stay for the rest show and rock out because they had so much energy. Just bought Pardon me and have been spreading the word to all my friends back home. Come to DC!
I saw JTNL for the first time in 2007. A good friend of mine was a good friend of the band and invited me to a show. At this point I was really jaded by everyone and their cousin being in a rock band and most of them being terrible. Nevertheless, I went along and in doing so, got my face blown off by unbelievable god-given ability. There's been many a Northern Lights show since then, but that unquestionably was quite the introduction.
Was in L.A. on business. Had a free Thursday night and wanted to see some live music. After passing on a thrash, Spanish metal band at the Whisky, I rolled into the Viper Room to see what was up. Had never heard of Jonathan Tyler, but 30 seconds into the show I knew I wouldn't soon forget it. Very tight, very energetic. It's awesome to see a band when the talent and enthusiasm of the band are both delivered. Come to Maine! Or at least Boston. Will get a big crew to show up.
I can honestly say regardless of whether there are thousands or less than a dozen, you guys know how put on one hell of a show! I was ONE of the possible TEN that saw you last night in Jackson, MS, and unfortunately it was the first time I've not only heard you, but also heard OF you! We really enjoyed your sound and were blown away by the cards you brought to the table! I will say that the next time you come to town, I will take it upon myself to make sure that more people know about you and show up to hear you play! You guys are TOO talented not to be HEARD! Really enjoyed y'all tonight! Good Luck in your future and safe travels!
I saw JTNL for the first time opening up for ZZ Top in Tyler Tx Friday night and was blown away !!! Its nice to see a young band playing good "ol hard rockin",blues-boogie party music. You guys got balls, opening for Top in Texas is no easy trick, but you won the crowd over right away and really got us worked up ! I kind of felt sorry for ya'll before you came on, the Oil Palace staff had everyone pissed off by not opening the doors until 7:45,and then making us (20,000 +?) line up in two rows to get in. It was well worth the wait though, You gave your all, and ZZ Top put on the best show I've ever seen them play, and I've seen them every where, from the Longhorn Ballroom in '71 to the Astrodome a few years back.
Congrats on your major label debut, and much success in the years to come. Rock On !!!
I accidently stumbled upon JTNL about 2 years ago when a friend invited me out to Blue Light in Lubbock, TX. I had never heard of them before and had been going through some tough times in my life. My friend informed me that I would LOVE this band and they would do some good healing to my soul. Boy was he right. I have NEVER seen a band rock that hard for so long and play their guts out! It was the best show I have ever been able to experience in that point in my life. I was an instant fan and to this day tell EVERYONE about them. The last show I attended, about 4 months ago, JTNL had 2 other awesome bands open up for them and by the end of the night all 3 bands were up on Blue Lights TINY stage along with several of us from the crowd. It was AWESOME! I have been fortunate to talk to JT and Mo a couple of times and they are always super nice and way cool to talk to. Thank you guys for rocking out and giving 200% EVERYTIME.
I saw JT at the Good Records 9th anniversay show playing a weird looking guitar (Strat body/Tele neck or vice versa). I asked about it afterwards and the next thing I know JT has grabbed the case, taken it out and was showing it to me. He could not have been nicer and earned a big fan that day. I pull out Hot Trottin' at every house party.
We drove into LA to see JT at the Viper Room. It was packed and JT&NL tore it up. They closed with Hot Saki from the new album and it was great. Thanks for the show we can't wait to see you out here again!
Just wanted to say that about a year & a half ago (maybe more) my husband & I happened upon y'all at Fitz's on Northgate in College Station. We almost didn't go in! I ended up buying your "Hot Trottin'" CD for $10 and have been listening to it since!
