It is 2pm in the afternoon. We're driving up I-35 headed to Illinois. I'm sitting in the back of the van. Fighting the road bumps trying to type. Either Oklahoma needs to clean up it's act or I need to find a seat that isn't directly over the rear axle...:) The band is performing four songs in studio tomorrow for daytrotter.com. It's quite the haul to Illinois from Dallas so we've left a day early. Take my advice and be on time to your freakin gigs!
Move forward - An adopted phrase of Mo's. You have to get back up when you fall if you want progress.
Check out Mo taking lead in this photo by Will Bolton from a show in San Fran.
Keep submitting your best shots and we'll highlight a few every now and then.
We're somewhere between Detroit & Chicago on I-14. I'm playing the new Arcade Fire record through headphones. It's distracting me from typing...or maybe this blog is distracting me from listening...either way it's a nice day for a drive. We've got 926 miles to go according to google maps... *empty room* The past week we've played Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Madison WI, and Kansas City. Turn-outs are growing. It feels alive. We decided to bring some new friends on stage lately. EJ aka "Antwoine" Norris has been playing the Hammond B3 and Becky Ilias singing added background vocals.

In Madison, Wisconsin today after doing the Praire Dog Blues Festival last night in Prairie Du Chien. Let me tell you - our entire day was rough. We started out having to deal with SW Airlines to get the check to rent another Norg. This put us two hours behind on travel to Prairie Du Chien. It just seemed a big "hurry up and wait" big azz moment which is no good for my PMS. Aaargh. We catch lunch. I have a cobb salad sans bacon with added salmon. A $12 to-go satisfactory meal. By 2PM we are ready and head out of Kansas City, KS, only to travel through an intense rain storm.
JTNL is n this months issue of BMI with Will.I.AM on the cover!!!!

It's Friday and I'm nursing a callus from tambourine playing in Kansas City, KS last night. Crossroads was the venue. We opened for Lucero & The Old 97's. Our homie, rock n roll neophyte, EJ Norris is with us. Before I give u the drama let me say that this tour has been good. More settled and without a RM, there's little room for error so it seems that only the van is our concern. The A/C went out the day we left and it was a sweatfest but we moved forward, rocked St. Louis and had the A/C sort o' fixed. The Old Rock Hose n St. Louis is an official JTNL hot spot!
It's been a good three weeks since I've blogged and lots has happended. Let's see . . . right now I'm in St. Louis, MO. We arrived here at about 3:45 in the AM. By we, I mean, Brandon, JT, and me. Jordan has family two hours out and Nick is doing some recording work n Austin. He will return tomorrow. The drive was crazy being that the A/C on the van went out before we left, so we rode in heat underneath overcast skies. When we arrived at the hotel, I immediately had to go spend some energy because I'd slept most of the way due to possible heat exhaustion.
