It's Thursday night. Actually, it's Friday morning, but you get the drift. I'm n a hotel room in Orlando, Florida - the Calypso Cay. Sounds fun huh? Nick Jay picked this one because it has a few pools and a Mini golf course. We played the House of Blues tonight and gained another grand following of fans. None of these JJ Grey shows have disappointed. This combination is a hit! Tonite we had a guestcappearance from Chris Bell a phenomenal harp player from the Thomas Wynn camp. He joined us for Rock Me Baby. It was smashing!
The drive in from Gainesville was alright. Our new tour manager is in tour band boot camp. I worry about his capacity to deal with us. He's a nice guy and this is half a place for nice guys. Matt was expecting to leave out at noon until Brandon made a last minute announcement that we had to pick his girl up from the airport. Lol! This caused a time adjustment. We had to get up at 8:30 and leave at 9:15. What's wrong with this? Nothing if you are willing to drive, which is where the bump in the road happened. Matt was looking forward to getting rest and handling some administrative duties. Luckily, Nick didn't mind driving, so we made it to Orlando, made the pick up, and managed not to complain too much. Lots of shyt happens last minute with us. We are learning how to plan ahead as a group, but are still very much at the beginner level. I like playing House of Blues. Sure it's corporate, but they feed bands well, and the dressing rooms are cool. We do our last shows with JJ tomorrow. It's gonna b bittersweet. I've managed to b chill this tour. Got my good behavior jacket, but tomorrow... I'm taking no prisoners. There's only so much watching I'm gonna do so expect the Ybor (Tampa) report by Sunday. I'm getting loose because by Sunday, game face must b on for Voo Doo Music Fest. The Rangers are down two games at this point... That's all I'm gonna say on that. Until the next blog...stay strong and stay familiar.
