We're somewhere between Detroit & Chicago on I-14. I'm playing the new Arcade Fire record through headphones. It's distracting me from typing...or maybe this blog is distracting me from listening...either way it's a nice day for a drive. We've got 926 miles to go according to google maps...

The past week we've played Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Madison WI, and Kansas City. Turn-outs are growing. It feels alive. We decided to bring some new friends on stage lately. EJ aka "Antwoine" Norris has been playing the Hammond B3 and Becky Ilias singing added background vocals. An old friend Beau Bedford joined us on guitar for the Austin Tx gig last week where we experienced a killer show. All that to say: we've had a packed van lately. It's better that way. The comfort level is down a hair, but the energy level is high. The energy and vibe on stage is also peaking. I feed off the energy of the people in the room and especially on the stage. When I see or hear Mo lost in the moment I get lost in it myself. I love playing live. Adding my instrument with a group of others to form A sound gets me going real good. Each person's character shines through in their sound. On another note, last night a few kind-hearted girls made my day. NOT in the way some of you are thinking. Ha... Truth is one of the girl's family runs a bakery in Detroit. They brought two dozen tasty tasty cupcakes for us. Next time you're in Detroit visit the Sugar Tree Bakery. It won't disappoint. Most of you probably don't care to hear cupcake stories, but you should! Acts of kindness make life brighter ya sourpuss!
So we're slowly finding out stations across the country are playing our jams. If you hear it played and get the urge call the station and thank them. Or don't... But it would be unamerican of you not to. HA.
Driving. Driving. Then more driving. See you on the road...
